But learning some languages has certain benefits - for example, with learning Chinese will always come such perks as free celebrations of Chinese holidays and generally parties with Chinese people
I went to one such party. They immediately appointed me the main white laowai of the event and dressed me as an emperor. At the party there was also a Chinese grandpa-cameraman-animator. He asked me to say something on camera. It's quite possible I'm some meme in Chinese TikTok.
They also fed us dumplings
