Vietnamese Cafes and the Coolest Ordering System

Every person living in Czech Republic will sooner or later inevitably notice one feature - there are quite a lot of Vietnamese people living in Czech Republic.

Even arriving in Poděbrady, a newly arrived student will quickly see the bistro "Hongkong", though I'm not sure if it's owned by Vietnamese specifically. In "Hongkong" they cook so-called "čínka", i.e. dishes more in Chinese style (fry onions in a wok, throw in vegetables, meat, pour sauce, put rice\noodles nearby). Fast, tasty, fierce, fat.

But the most numerous group of visitors from Asia are Vietnamese. By the way, immigrant children have already grown up and fully integrated into society, you can often meet schoolchildren who speak both Czech and Vietnamese perfectly (and be a little envious).

Disclaimer: there are no aggressive Asians, Arabs, refugees in Czech Republic, everything is good here. The worst thing you can meet here is me.

So anyway, one of the coolest Vietnamese things, IMHO, is Vietnamese cuisine. Perhaps every Czech knows the word "pho". Pho is such a cool simple soup: broth, vermicelli, vegetables, pieces of meat and herbs. The taste is quite unique, I really like it.

If it's critically important to impress a Vietnamese girl, you should show off your pronunciation of the word "pho" - correct would be "phuaaa" (like in the word "BUEEE")

Vietnamese cuisine in Czech Republic is simple but tasty. For example, one of my favorite dishes is bum bo nam bo. This is a beautiful plate of noodles with all sorts of things.

But what am I talking about?

Where to try real Vietnamese pho in Prague?

My advice - Trang An at Holešovice market
If it's critically important to move to second base with a Vietnamese girl, you can show off the pronunciation of the word Trang - "chan"

Why? Because they have the most awesome ordering system in the world!

You come to the counter, order, and they give you a pager.

When your order is ready, the pager starts buzzing, beeping. You go, show it, pick up your order. No unnecessary talking.

Awesome!

When you come to Prague, forget about wonder tours from guide Vasya. Buy a tram ticket and run to play with the pager.
