České Budějovice, brewery

October 2016

Looking for the entrance :)

Here, by the way, it should be noted that tours without reservation only happen on a specific day, at a specific hour, that's exactly why we couldn't stay longer in Třeboň, unfortunately.

Inside everything's standard, very similar to Plzeň or Kozel.

There were really a lot of people inside, over a hundred, we were afraid everyone would go on the tour with us, but it turned out there are several tours in different languages. By the way, right before us tours passed in German and Russian, though they weren't in the schedule. Apparently tour operators did their job :)

Traditional photo by the crates.

You can walk around for free, look at "unique" exhibits. There's also a souvenir shop where there's fuck all, but it's expensive.

We bought tickets for a tour in Czech :)

The tour itself was delayed by about 20 minutes. We go outside first.

Beer all around.

At first they tell about where the water comes from and where it's stored. By the way, conspiracy lovers believe that Russian beer tastes like piss with alcohol precisely because the water is different. Well ok. Here the sources are artesian.

We go further. By the way, as you can see, in Budějovice they don't only pour the beer of the same name, but also, for example, "Pardál", which I've never tried :)

Work is bustling around, noisy.

The wooden pallets smell really cool.

The girl talks about how beer is brewed. I already know this by heart :)

We go inside. Container.

Someone stuck something on.

We go further, unclear why we were even there :)

Now we go down.

Here beer is stored and matures. Cold.

Piece of a barrel to show how it was.

Pumps for draining water. It's damp here.

Let's go try the beer! First hops and malt. They're very tasty, this is something that in Russia you most likely can't just try :( The jackets they give to the guides are cool )

They poured a small glass of beer each. Cold, supposedly unfiltered. But the taste is strange, not as fresh as they gave at Kozel, for example. In general, strange.

We go to the assembly shop. Beer is transported around the factory by rails, further - only by trucks.

Inside it's like in the shop teacher's office.

Piles of beer packages, ready for shipment. All this will be drunk faster than in a day.

Work goes on, even on Saturday.

The guy stuck beer humor on himself. Written something like "I smell, I search, oh, beer!"

The shop is big.

I was pleased with the huge crates with lids.

And the thing with labels.

That's where the tour ended :) Those who wanted went to the shop to buy souvenirs (terrible crush, a couple dozen people in a couple square meters, and they were buying mainly just beer, which is even cheaper in stores).

I looked in the review book, everything as always :)

How to get there?

A direct train runs from Prague, about 2.5 hours.
