Did you know that in Czech Republic it's customary to bake sweets for big holidays?
During the New Year holidays we collectively baked Christmas gingerbreads with colleagues.

Usually people bake them at home. You need to make a lot of little things, so everyone gathers.
For example, I was trusted to draw with sugar icing :)
If interested, I'm sharing the dough recipe.
You'll need:
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 2 teaspoons of gingerbread spice (a mixture is sold in supermarkets here, there can be anything - ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, anise, star anise - add what you have)
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 400g flour
- 140g powdered sugar
- 100g butter (already soft)
First you need to mix sugar, eggs and butter. Add honey and spices there. Start mixing in flour and soda. By the way, the more honey you add, the harder the gingerbreads will be, you decide which ones you like better :)
Then put the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes. Take it out, quickly make gingerbreads with any cookie cutters. Bake for 8 minutes at 180 degrees.
If desired, you can draw on top with sugar icing :)
Such gingerbreads are eaten both for Christmas and other holidays - Easter or Valentine's Day.
