I remembered one story related to languages
I don't remember where I saw this story, but what difference does it make - on the internet everything is true anyway.
A guy, a native English speaker, met a Danish woman who also spoke English. This and that, things went well, in short, the guys got married.
They lived happily. At home they spoke English, naturally. Until an excellent idea came to the guy's head - let me, he thinks, learn Danish, I'll make my girlfriend happy.
He learned the language, at home they started sometimes speaking Danish. Over time the relationship fell apart.
And what happened? Nothing special, it just turned out that in Danish he was talking to a completely different person, with a completely different brain. Like, he fell in love with one girl, but she turned out to be another.
What am I even getting at? I remember that story evoked 2 feelings in me then.
First, native language determines consciousness. This is, in principle, even more or less scientifically confirmed, although, as in any humanitarian science so far - nothing is an axiom. Here's a good article on this topic.
And second, I thought, what if I have the same problem. My brain has been messed up by languages for a long time, so I came to the conclusion that people I talk to in Russian differ from those I talk to in Czech, for example.
