May 2022
It was decided to visit Chomutov after we'd been to Litoměřice and liked it there.
The Sudetenland is one of the most underrated regions, but like everything in this life, not everything is so clear-cut
Getting to Chomutov by train from Prague is inconvenient - more than two hours. Though by car it's only about 80km

From the first minutes the impressions are as if you ended up in 90s Kaluga

Slowly it became clear that there would most likely be nothing to catch here

Closer to the center everything got better, but still not quite

Street sign

The town by vibe reminded of everything: for example, this street reminded of Znojmo

Here - Pardubice, and that's a bad sign

Here something between Kaluga of my childhood and the same Pardubice

The center is very small

Parking like in Rakovník

In general, an asshole

With the widest and dumbest roads in Czechia. Pedestrians in Chomutov are valued here like Roma.

Oh yeah, Chomutov is supposed to be a "Roma" town, but as you can see, this stereotype has never really been confirmed in my life

The entrance to the gymnasium is designed as if it's not Chomutov but Geneva

Though you have to give credit, like in "Parasite", at the top Chomutov is quite a rich Geneva

With expensive views

With a paid lake

With a paid zoo

And free nature (for which the trip was made)

The reader should guess the year of the article and the meaning of the inscription

After the zoo another 5 minutes of humiliation through Chomutov districts with a highway and three panel buildings on the outskirts

And finally, forest.
In the forest the main exhibits are defensive structures. Reminder, World War II started right here - Germany seized the Sudetenland in '39. Czechia prepared, fought, but was betrayed.

"More modern" bunkers

There was some museum here too

Chomutov in German is "Komotau". In Belarusian it's also something like that, right?

The return trip took very little - the town was visible almost immediately

Over Chomutov's 3 panel buildings flew 3 airplanes

Another 3 panel buildings

And more

But there's also one (another two-thirds didn't fit in the frame)

Closer to the second station there are still some decent private houses left

At the station a European couple was romantically fighting on the stairs. It's like a fight with kisses or something like that. I saw this on the street all my childhood. In 2022 in Prague this would be cringe, but for Chomutov it's normal, from which we can conclude that Chomutov is an ordinary asshole of the world.

Surely an extremely popular town on Russian forums for buying real estate.
