Znojmo

February 2022

I ended up in Znojmo not just like that. Once Vovan bought himself Netflix and a TV, things that wouldn't appear by themselves at my place.
On Netflix it was decided to watch Czech films.

Czech film was chosen by poking around Russian sites. We came across the film "Berries" (Bobule). The film turned out to be not bad, but after 20 minutes of watching I quarreled with someone, and we forgot about the film.

The film was remembered already at Vovan's and it was decided to finish it. Brief retelling:
1) Praguer steals, deceives
2) his grandpa lives in the village
3) Praguer hiding from cops with his pickup artist friend goes to grandpa's village
4) it's very beautiful there, because it's the main wine-making region of Czechia
5) nature, romance, picking up village chicks, remember your roots
6) chick+booze > Prague
7) profit!!!

It was decided to watch the second and third parts of the film. As any reader will guess, from the "Bobule" brand the film creators squeezed out all the juice.
In the second part the pickup artist friend picked up his girlfriend to the state of pregnancy, and a killer came for him. The remaining 90 minutes of the film are occupied by shots of HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS THERE
In the third part of the film (which in English is called "3Grapes", i.e. "3G rapes"), the Praguer almost divorced the chick, but non-Prague chicks aren't as weak in the front as you're used to. The main character is already fat, he has kids, BUT HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS THERE

In all three parts the viewer could see tits, but the prize for most absurd goes to the third part's scriptwriter. If you've never seen such a paradoxical phenomenon as "tits for the sake of tits", then it's excellently illustrated in this feature film. Three G indeed rapes. You haven't even seen five yet.

Romanticization of life in the very south of Czechia didn't go to waste and they took me to the town of Znojmo - a town that in normal life you most likely won't get to (and in vain).

Going from Prague about 3 hours by bus. By train much longer.
If you get off the bus not in the very center, the tourist will see this:

Yes, Europe looks exactly like this, whatever you imagined

Expectation:

Reality:

But gotta give credit - immediately clear where you need to look and where you don't

Police are looking for precisely you

And this is what an ordinary person's life in Znojmo looks like

Three meters right or left, such views open up

Entering the center. On foot from the farthest bus stop about 15 minutes at slow pace

Here there's a brewery

The town is unexpectedly beautiful for a little-known one, like Pisek or Telc or Trebon

Which is logical - this is south Czechia, i.e. a completely different region

History is preserved

Someone liked it here hundreds of years ago too

Clear why they make films about this place

One more small explanation

I was here in late February and temperature was barely plus

Naturally, the wine-making region should be visited in summer when everything blooms

At this time in the forest it was just scary - trees creaked from wind, many fallen ones were lying around

Good thing I had a sandwich - in 3 hours of walking we saw at most 5 people in the whole forest

But I understand the scriptwriter's thoughts, who wanted to show life in the region

Everyone wants to show such things

Central square looks like all of them

Town near the center reminds me somehow of Brno too

Rare phenomenon - they're demolishing a house, you can look at what kind of walls were in the apartment. And immediately you understand that film is a film, but real life looks roughly like this

No romance

No wine, no chicks. People are the same all over the world

In the apartment someone Portuguese forgot to log out of Netflix, and I watched 2 films: "We 2" (I recognized the actress, tits for the sake of tits - check) and "Pupendo" (strange, but I liked it. Tits for the sake of tits - well who am I kidding, check, of course)

Next day it was decided to finish walking around the town

Perhaps the best designation for plastic trash bin. I still don't understand well which color bin to throw what in.

We went to the museum and it was strange - at the ticket office you buy a ticket and just walk through the museum. Inside absolutely nobody besides you.

In the museum there were all sorts of hoes (not interesting). The interesting room was the exhibition about how people traveled. Cool that travel wasn't always what we see it as today.
Even these my reflections previously could only afford the richest. Poor people traveled on their own two feet, because they had to. Rich people described life away from home, and travel was a very expensive hobby if only because transport cost like sending a satellite to space. It became pleasant that possibly my words today won't be appreciated, but in a couple hundred years - definitely.

The most unpleasant exhibition was the exhibition of German marks (banknotes) from the 1920s, about hyperinflation. Knowing what military reparations and mark devaluation led to, in 2022 it was especially sad to look at how history teaches us nothing.

In Znojmo a network of establishments with a Zorro-like sign was discovered. As I understand, it's the brewery's sign, but I didn't understand the logic of it being on absolutely random establishments.

Kdybych se narodil před sto lety
v jinačí době
u Larischů na zahradě trhal bych květy
má lásko tobě

Tramvaj by jezdila přes řeku nahoru
slunce by zvedalo hraniční závoru
a z oken voněl by
sváteční oběd

Večer by zněla od Mojzese
melodie dávnověká
bylo by léto tisíc devět set deset
za domem by tekla řeka

Vidím to jako dnes šťastného sebe
ženu a děti a těšínské nebe
ještě že člověk nikdy neví
co ho čeká

Aesthetics of Czechia

There's a park in town

I suggest future readers guess the approximate date when I was in Znojmo

Recently we've especially gotten hooked on Czech films and they pleased us. In Brno we saw Mimořádná událost (above) and sat a meter from the actors. Cool feelings. That's where I knew the actress from "We 2" from.

In Znojmo we went to "old bombshell" (on the poster - bottom center), top. The film, it felt like, was irony about my whole life, but that's such an inside joke.

Bottom left is visible a poster for a film on which is written "Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg". Here a generational dispute was born. I don't know who these people are, and for me here there's only Antonio Banderas. And you don't even know which one of them is Antonio Banderas.

Truth will prevail. I absolutely agree, but I think it'll prevail when the author puts a háček over the T. Until that moment unfortunately, stupidity prevails.

Aesthetics of Znojmo

Dana couldn't decide whether she wants to write penZion or penSion

And Znojmo will be remembered for a long time, beautiful and, as it seemed, calm. Calmness was precisely what was lacking, so hit the spot.
