Slany - is one of those strange cities near Prague, which you can only get to by train with a transfer
Strangeness of such cities lies in the fact that railroad is there, but it's not like they actively use it
From this such cities are usually a bit poorer than a city where the station is close and you can get to Prague quickly.
By the way, with all my criticism, the transportation system in such cities is done perfectly - to the regional center goes a train of 1-2 cars, which is always enough for locals.
I lived in the Aviatsionny microdistrict, which is located between Domodedovo city and Domodedovo airport. It's very easy to get to both places. But at the station between them almost nothing stops. I.e. location is ideal, transport - useless. In Czechia similar situations would be solved exactly by having a transfer in Domodedovo city to an express train, and between the city and airport a "train-minibus" would run

In Slany I contrary to tradition first ate - was delicious (chain restaurant "Tovarna")
Also Slany - is a city of shitty advertising
Otherwise, quite a nice groomed city of Bohemia (word "Bohemia" fell out of my head completely - in Czech it's "Central Czechia")
City is famous for its Antos brewery
Center - is good, there are people, but it's impossible to distinguish it from other cities
Prices for 2016. Goulash can be eaten for 60 crowns (now you can find beer for 70)

Most memorable in the city - its terrain, city because of this is almost everywhere beautiful

In 2016 communism in Czechia wasn't popular, by 2021 at the time of writing the article among the young it's cringe not to criticize capitalism
I advise taking a piss in the very center - toilet for 5 crowns

We also went for the famous beer (there was such a joke that girls went for beer - no one gave a shit about them, no one wanted to serve them. Glory to feminism.)
City, judging by photos, changed a bit for the worse, but overall still pleasant
And still shitty (here everything's magnificent - for example bottom right list of advantages of electronic cigarettes - then not every mommy's health nut smoked them)
We ate again in the same place as last time - as you see, Slany doesn't let you down at all
