September 2026
This trip was undertaken as part of a holiday trip around Italy hastily planned expedition through northern Germany with the aim of finding out what they’re like over there when it comes to beer and fish:
Wismar – Poel – Lübeck – Schwerin
The last day of the trip; everyone’s tired, and the weather’s taken a turn for the worse

I suppose we’re supposed to visit the castle, but it’s just gold and paintings – only Asians found it interesting

The gardens

Kinda Versailles

The city is deserted, as always

Oh yes, there’s an election on. I don’t know what it’ll be like for you in the future, but here in ’39, the AfD is winning in some regions

The final boss of the traffic lights

There are trams in the city – long ones

The castle – in short, is the main attraction of the city

So there’s nothing to do in a city like this

The horse is parked

We went to the free museum

It wasn’t particularly memorable, apart from the bloke at reception shouting at us in German to ask where we were from. When I went closer, he repeated it in German. A German granny standing nearby translated and said, ‘Yeah, that’s a bit cringe.’ German grannies are the best, as always. The museum staff kept nagging us that we should put our shirts on properly, rather than just draping them over our shoulders. Anyway, I’d like to say hello to the museum studies department at Charles University. The problem with idiots and gatekeepers in museums is an international one

Well, the mood was getting worse, so we decided to head home quietly

We had a bite to eat and off we went; there’s nothing to do here

The icing on the cake wasn’t this herring kebab, but the fact that a girl acting all high and mighty with a Russian accent said, in almost perfect German, that she would speak exclusively in German. In short, life in this region is apparently rather depressing. Oh well, stay in the arse then
