Scholarship for studying in Brno, free university applications

This article is 💩 mammoth dung

This means its value is not in informativeness, but in memory of how it was

There may be an update at the end of the article. Or there may not be.

Most students of humanities and technical specialties want to apply to universities in Prague - to Charles University and CTU, respectively.

Today I'd like to tell about a backup option for both groups - studying in Brno.
For humanities students this is Masaryk University. For technical students - BUT.
I won't tell in detail about each of them now, but I'd like to tell about how you can try to get a scholarship of 6000 crowns per month. Even if you don't get the scholarship, in any case, you'll submit applications to universities for free as part of the program.

I'll start, perhaps, with a brief description of the scholarship itself. You can read about it and register here.
Briefly - this is financial assistance for future masters and doctoral candidates (only foreigners-citizens from outside the EU) who want to continue studying in Brno.
They give 6 thousand crowns per month in the first year of study. They also help with visas, nostrification, applications, but we're not interested in that :)
One of the conditions is that the student has never studied in Czech Republic before (neither in school nor at university, but language school is an exception) and knows Czech to study normally.
Yes, in the end, you also need to get into university, but it's not that difficult - we, for example, won't even take anything. You can submit an application every year from December 1st until the end of January.

The list of universities you can apply to and the list of those who receive scholarships can be seen on the project's main page .
As you can see - many male and female students from Russia, mainly technical and natural science specialties. Results will be announced at the end of June. Presumably 22 students will receive the scholarship.

How to submit an application for scholarship?

Start here.

Next you should fill in several points.

As you can see in the picture - nothing complicated. Almost all points can be filled in in English, but we're already good enough to do such simple things in Czech :)
By the way, you need to write your CV and motivation letter.
You also need to make scans of diploma, appendix, all translations. In theory, you can attach recommendations from the previous place of study (can be in English).
I advise dealing with CV, scanning, recommendations at home. I, for example, ran around with a camera for about an hour and photographed everything, there was no scanner at hand :)

In the end an email will come that the application is submitted.

Free application submission

In mid-February I received a letter that I can for free submit applications to Masaryk University (although nothing was said about this in advance). The email came with such content:

Milí uchazeči,
přihlásili jste se do programu stipendií pro zahraniční studenty.
Nyní bude potřeba PODAT PŘIHLÁŠKU NA MASARYKOVU UNIVERZITU!

POSTUP:
Vyplňte přihlášku na Masarykovu univerzitu zde:
http://is.muni.cz/prihlaska/info.pl?lang=cs;op=n;utyp

In general, it was just said that applications for me will be free. You can submit only 2, those that we marked in the scholarship questionnaire.

I tried to do this, submitted an application, and it immediately became paid.

True, I had to wait a couple of days for the university itself to accept it.

Conclusions

Brno is most often the second option for all applicants. In any case, for confidence almost everyone submits applications to this city too. To save money, we do the following:

1) Scan all documents at home. Work on CV, recommendations from teachers
2) In early December we start working on the application. We manage in two months
3) In mid-late February we submit free applications. We manage to do this before the end of April
4) Take exams, get into university. This is all in June
5) Receive / don't receive scholarship. If we got into several places - think about where it will be better
6) Bingo!
