October 2022
This time I didn't even know where I was going. This was a surprise trip.
Going by train about 5 hours from Prague with a transfer in Breclav. Train from Breclav is a so-called "motoracek", i.e. diesel 2 cars. Inside there were many schoolchildren, a couple gypsies, a bit shitty.

It would seem Mikulov should have been a hole like Breclav, but no. This town is known for winemaking, like Znojmo. Located three steps from Austria. I learned about the town from the film "Bobule", which, by the way, was shot as propaganda for the region and local lifestyle. And what did you think, propaganda is only Stalin?

Mikulov's main distinguishing feature, there's nothing else like this in the country

By the station there are several panel buildings, with strange pipes

The center is visible

Here we met a Ukrainian woman, apparently a refugee, who was looking for a bank to open an account. Showed on maps, though we didn't know ourselves where. Since the town is on the border, I hope these processes are streamlined here.

Entering the center

There it's definitely beautiful, wherever you look

Well almost :)

Street signs are simplest, no others

Sometimes you need to search for beauty

Sometimes simpler

Central square

Signs have faded, not without reason - in a wine region there will obviously be lots of sun

Almost every house is a pension, literally everything's for rent

Technology (reminder, it's October)

In the evening here especially beautiful sun and moon

Our "kitchen corner" (that's what kitchens made for show are called here), they can sell such even in regular apartments. We stayed here, on Google there are also bad reviews, so can't recommend for sure, for us everything was OK.

One of the trip's goals - bikes. For 480 crowns a day we rented them here, I recommend, bikes like new. Special charm - sandals on socks.

In half an hour's ride Austria

This is Austria

By the way, important ethnographic note. Riding a bike, around muffled sounds "puff-puff" once a minute. Saw Austrian hunters, turns out it's the season. First time I see so many corpses at once.

To Austria and back managed in 3 hours. So as not to feel bad about it, made another circle around Mikulov, in total turned out 50km
Here's the route around Austria:
Here around Mikulov, both recommended:
Second ethnographic note about hunting: in the Czech part it felt like bullets were flying right overhead. Pif-paf always sounded, it felt like, a couple meters from you, was scary.
Got to the winery that was a sponsor of the Bobule film

Quarry (in Czech "lom") - buddy of Velka Amerika

In total rode a bit more than 5 hours. If you want more, I recommend getting an electric bicycle

Ate a burger and hot dog at the local hipster place, highly recommend, haven't had such tasty burgers in a long time

The next day it was decided to walk on foot already

Around town mainly vineyards, but at the start of the path there are also views

People actively climb to party. By the way, on this particular day groups of locals walked with garbage bags, like walk and clean up, though, frankly, it's not that dirty there

This we'll see for about a whole day more

People with dogs and kids

Vineyards

Purely Mikulov marking on asphalt

Mountain

Views from the mountain

Around Mikulov you can walk on foot for 5 hours, main views = vineyards

Courtyard

Sign at the exit

Arch

Remote in the arch

Many dumpsters are designed like this

Courtyard in a panel building, my grandma had the same, benches at the entrance are present

Five-digit semaphore.

South Czechia I consider closed
