Riga

April 2019

This trip took place as part of my first birthday "eurotour", during which I visited:
Helsinki - Tallinn - Tartu - Riga - Jurmala - Vilnius - Warsaw

First thing you need to know: back then I thought the best way to tell about travels is video. That's not true, but you can watch the video here:

We came to Latvia from Tartu by bus. Eurolines bus, good one. What was strange was that the driver fucked around that 100% someone there at the border would need to show passport. The fact that both Estonia and Latvia are in the EU and there are no borders there didn't give a fuck to him :)

First thing a traveler will see in Riga - this here miracle (clickable):

The city itself was memorable for being very easy to move to from Prague. Riga turned out to be the most "homey" for us

The second "homeyness" of Riga was that they brew excellent beer here

But it's important to note that Riga will be homey not only for a traveler from Prague

I honestly was ready to travel around Riga like around Europe. I honestly tried to speak English in cafes and shops. Didn't work out.

Riga was memorable for the large amount of Russian language on the street and the seemingly oldest population. It feels like every second person is a grandma.
Overall, the city is excellent, but I didn't understand Latvia.
